In his own words
The tables below say what Jedediah M. Grant preached about. This is what it sounded like.
Every portion of sectarian religion that is good is my religion. If they have a precious gem it belongs to my religion; if it is purity, virtue, integrity, the gift of the Holy Ghost, fervency, and prayer, it is my religion. Some people talk of wildfire; I would rather have wildfire than no fire at all. I would like you to come up to the light of the Almighty, and if you want to pray to God, if you want to shout and make heaven and earth ring—drive the devil out of doors, chase darkness from your houses, and from your families, and raise the banner of the Lord Jesus Christ in your households, and the flag of God in your city, and say, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I will do right, and root up everything that is wrong.

What he returned to
Every speaker in the Journal preaches on faith, repentance and the gathering. These are the subjects Jedediah M. Grant raised more often than the Journal does as a whole — the ones that distinguish his preaching from the rest of the series.
| Subject | Sermons | Share of his sermons | vs. Journal average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cleanliness | 4 | 20% | 28.5× |
| Speaking in Tongues | 3 | 15% | 8.9× |
| Lucifer | 3 | 15% | 7.6× |
| High Priests | 3 | 15% | 4.8× |
| Miracles | 3 | 15% | 4.4× |
| Bishops | 6 | 30% | 3.5× |
| Spiritual Gifts | 5 | 25% | 3.5× |
| Angels | 3 | 15% | 2.8× |
Subject tags are generated by a language model reading each sermon. The comparison is against the rate for all 1,426 sermons in the Journal, so a figure of 3× means the subject appears three times as often in his sermons as in the series overall.
